Original Procurement DOCUMENTS DATED November 11, 2016 , WITH AMENDMENTS AND
ADDITIONS NOTED BELOW.
2.02 ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF THIS ADDENDUM IN THE SPACE PROVIDED IN THE Bid Form .
FAILURE TO DO SO May DISQUALIFY THE BIDDER.
CHANGES TO THE PROJECT MANUAL - SPECIFICATIONS :
3.01 SECTION 01 10 00 - SUMMARY
A.Paragraph 1.05.D "Utlity Outages and Shutdown" has been revised per the attached updated
Specification Section 01 10 00.
3.02 SECTION 26 05 01 - MINOR ELECTRICAL DEMOLITION
A.Paragraph 3.02 C. Revise to read "C. Exisitng Electrical Service and Emergency Electrical
Service: Maintain existing systems in service unitl new sytem is compete and ready for service.
Disable system only to make switchovers and connections. Obtain permission from Owner and
Archtiect at least 2 WEEKS in advance before partially or completely disabling systems. Minimize
outaage duration to not exceed 8 hours. Make temporary connection to maintain service in
areas adjacent to work area.
3.03 SECTION 26 05 35 - RACEWAYS AND BOXES
A.Paragraph 1.06 B. Replace "City of St. Charels Electrical Department" with "Commonwealth
Edison Company".
3.04 SECTION 26 24 13 - SERVICE AND DISTRIBUTION
A.Paragraph 2.03 B and subparagraph 2.03 B.1a: Revise "NEMA 4" to read "NEMA 3R".
3.05 SECTION 32 92 19 - SEEDING
A.Remove this Section. The Owner will restore disturbed landscaping. Contractor responsible for
providing rough grading of any disturbed areas.

CHANGES TO THE DRAWINGS:
4.01 DRAWING Sheet G100 -Cover Sheet
A.Add the following General Note under B. "7. Contractor to remove any vegitation/landscape items
as required to perform Work. Coordinate with Owner prior to removing such items".
4.02 DRAWING Sheet E100 - Electrical Site Plan
A.The Owner has requested that a general purpose exterior concrete pad is added near the
firestation. Contractor to base his bid on this pad having a footprint of 25'x25'. Refer to detail
9/A101 for the Typical Exterior Pad Detail. Coordinate final dimensions and location with Owner.
4.03 DRAWING Sheet E310 - Electrical Main Level Floor Plan
A.Replace Drawing in its entirety with the attached E310 (Addendum #1 Revision) with the following
revisions:
1.Eliminate pull box at cell tower service lateral and provide new service lateral conductors.
4.04 DRAWING Sheet E600 - Electrical One Line Diagrams and Details
A.Replace Drawing in its entirety with the attached E600 (Addendum #1 Revision) with the following
revisions:
1.Clarify manual transfer switch description.
2.Clarify removal of grounding system at existing MDP (DP-1).

PART 1 GENERAL
1.01 PROJECT
A.Project Name: VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK - ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS UPGRADES.
B.Owner's Name: Village of Oak Brook.
C.Architect/Engineer's Name: Kluber Architects + Engineers.
1.02 CONTRACT DESCRIPTION
A.Contract Type: A single prime contract based on a Stipulated Price as described in the Village of
Oak Brook Contract for the Construction of Electrical Systems Upgrades Bid Package document.
1.03 DESCRIPTION OF ALTERATIONS WORK
A.Scope of demolition and removal work is shown on drawings and specified in Section 02 41 00.
B.Scope of alterations work is shown on drawings.
C.New exterior masonry equipment enclosure and equipment pads.
D.Coordination with Commonwealth Edison Company of all efforts to demolish existing service,
construction of new service location and de-energization and re-energization of electrical utility for
the orderly progress and completion of the work.
E.Construction of new electrical service, transfer switch and distribution systems for Village Hall,
Public Works and Fire Station electrical distribution systems as indicated and reasonably inferable
in the contract documents.
F.Construction of Commonwealth Edison Co. primary empty conduit system and utility pad
construction in accordance with utility company requirements.
G.Construction of optional standby packaged engine generator set at public works electrical
distribution.
H.Retro-fit of existing Village Hall packaged generator to add remote annunciator panel at locations
indicated on the drawings.
I.Temporary electrical service for outages that exceed a duration of 12 hours for the continued
operation of the village complex.
J.Retro-fit of existing Village Hall electrical distribution to eliminate metering and service entrance
equipment as generally indicated or reasonably inferable in the contract documents.
K.Demolition of existing Village Hall pad-mount utility transformer, service lateral conductors and
de-energized Utility primary feeder.
L.Restoration of site landscaping due to construction, demolition, excavation and directional boring
activities.

1.04 OWNER OCCUPANCY
A.Owner intends to continue to occupy adjacent portions of the existing building during the entire
construction period.
B.Cooperate with Owner to minimize conflict and to facilitate Owner's operations.
C.Schedule the Work to accommodate Owner occupancy.
1.05 CONTRACTOR USE OF SITE AND PREMISES
A.Construction Operations: Limited to areas noted on Drawings.
B.Provide access to and from site as required by law and by Owner:
1.Emergency Building Exits During Construction: Keep all exits required by code open during
construction period; provide temporary exit signs if exit routes are temporarily altered.
2.Do not obstruct roadways, sidewalks, or other public ways without permit.
C.Existing building spaces may not be used for storage.
D.Utility Outages and Shutdown:
1.Limit disruption of utility services to hours the building is unoccupied.
2.Do not disrupt or shut down life safety systems, including but not limited to fire sprinklers and
fire alarm system, without 2 weeks notice to Owner and authorities having jurisdiction.
3.Limit shutdown of utility services to 8 hours at a time, arranged at least 2 weeks in advance
with Owner.
4.Shutdown times to occur on Saturday's only.
5.Prevent accidental disruption of utility services to other facilities.
