R-1897 - 08/11/2020 - APPRECIATION - Resolutions RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, JOHN R. LAUSCH, JR. has served as United States Attorney for the
Northern District of Illinois since November 22, 2017, and in that capacity has fearlessly
confronted the money and power of the deeply corrupt individuals wielding clout in our state's
General Assembly and its cast of petty tyrants feeding on the public, and imposing the costs of
their brutal avarice on captive industries, collusive regulatory agencies that cannot bring
themselves to operate impartially, and crooked wire pullers pluming themselves on riches
extorted from every source imaginable, including even the cameras that snap pictures of cars
and turn them into traffic tickets at perfectly safe intersections made more dangerous by corrupt
red light camera companies; and
WHEREAS, JOHN LAUSCH has not hesitated to investigate and develop evidence of
public corruption, and to bring the federal cases to halt corruption in its tracks, tracks made by
the shoes of specific corrupt individuals bringing their ingrained baleful influence wherever they
go, including Oak Brook Illinois, where their handiwork in getting a red light camera installed
at the corner of Rt. 83 and 22nd Street is the most nakedly profit-grabbing expression of improper
influence peddling and disregard of law, safety and moral standards in recent memory, and
which is still being protected by improper political influence to the detriment of health, welfare
and safety.
WHEREAS, much more work needs to be done to neutralize and incarcerate the
"creatures[s/ of the petty rake-off pocketed with a petty joke in private and denied with the
stalest platitudes in [their]public utterances...[the]grubby little nonentity[ies/ who...drifted into
corruption...chiefly because everyone else did it"' and whose "very language [is] all smudge
and blur," yet who still pretend to be engaged in public service right up until JOHN LAUSCH
gets to them, and removes them from office.
WHEREAS, by his exemplary conduct and inspiring service, JOHN LAUSCH has given us
a true compass we may rely upon for the conduct of our own lives of service and efforts devoted
to the residents, visitors and business community of Oak Brook; and
WHEREAS, for all of these things, the President and Board of Trustees express their
deep appreciation to JOHNLAUSCH, and declare that his faithful service should be recognized
and spread upon the records of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Oak Brook that JOHN LAUSCH be and is hereby commended for his faithful service
to the residents and the Village of Oak Brook, our surrounding communities, and our State.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Oak Brook, for and on behalf of the Village and its citizens, do hereby offer to JOHN LAUSCH
the Key to our Village, as a token of our appreciation and to denote his esteemed status and
perpetual privileges as an Honorary Citizen of Oak Brook.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a duly certified copy of this Resolution be delivered to
JOHN LAUSCH and that this Resolution be spread upon the official permanent records of the
Village.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook, DuPa e and Cook Counties, Illinois, this 11 th day of August, 2020.
