Craft supplies can be picked up curbside.  Assistance via phone and email are still available.  Book donations not accepted at this time. Adult Virtual Take & Make Crafts Holiday Tree with Camille Pick up a pre-bagged kit with all the materials you need to make your own recycled book tree for the holidays. Kits will be available for pick-up beginning December 10 at 11 am. Supplies are limited. Vision Board with Nancy Pick up a pre-bagged kit with all the materials you need to make your own vision board! Vision boards are a fun way to think about your goals for the next year. Kits will be available for pick-up beginning December 17 at 11 am. Supplies are limited. Virtual programming tutorials can be accessed on the Library’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Winter Reading Program Reading Is Out Of This World! Escape the realities of this world and enter into the world of a good book. Win prizes! Both the adult and children’s programs begin Saturday, December 19 and run through Saturday, February 27. Be sure to pick up a reading log on or any time after the start date! Reading logs will also be available to print from our website. Community Organization of the Month Paused Until Further Notice Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Library is pausing the Community Organization of the Month program. Looking for a way to help this holiday season? Previous and future featured organizations are listed on the Library’s website. Get Wrapped Up in a Good Book! We might not have any crafts for you to do at the library this holiday season, but we do have crafts for you to do at home! Each Take & Make kit is created with a specific age group in mind. We will only have a limited quantity of each kit. They will be available on a first come, first served basis along with their accompanying storytime/activity video on the date that is stated. There is no reserving a kit. Once they are gone, we will post a notification on the Library’s Event Calendar. No reservations necessary. Supplies for a Take & Make craft will be available for Curbside Pickup on the day the program premieres. Get yours ASAP! Supplies are limited. Virtual Storytime & Craft with Miss Kristyn What Are the Northern Lights? Monday, December 7 Recommended for ages 4 & up Join Miss Kristyn as she reads books about Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. Get ready to learn about what the Northern Lights are, where they can be seen and why they are so special. Miss Kristyn will also demonstrate a Northern Lights craft. Limited supplies for the Take & Make craft will be available on the same day the program premieres on our YouTube channel, December 7 @ 11 am. Virtual DIY Crafts with Miss Brigitte Take & Make Ornament Workshop Monday, December 14 Recommended for ages 4 & up Miss Brigitte is bringing one of the most popular winter programs to you in a new way. Pick up your bag of materials & follow along at home as she shows you step by step how to make a few winter ornaments. Limited supplies for these ornaments will be available on the same day the program premieres on our YouTube channel, December 14 @ 11 am. Virtual Storytime & Craft with Miss Margaux Cozy Treats! Monday, December 21 Recommended for ages 2 - 4 It’s baking day at the Library! Join Miss Margaux for a baking-themed storytime. We will read stories, sing songs, and then do a baking craft together. Limited supplies for a Take & Make craft will be available on the same day the program premieres on our YouTube channel, December 21 @ 11 am. Virtual DIY Craft with Miss Theresa Take & Make: Sock Snowman Tuesday, December 22 Recommended for ages 4 & up Miss Theresa will guide you in making this adorable craft. Pick up your bag of materials at the library. Follow along at home as she shows you step by step how to put it together and make it your own! Limited supplies for a Take & Make craft will be available on the same day the program premieres on our YouTube channel, December 22 @ 11 am. Virtual Storytime & Craft with Miss Brigitte Yeti! December 28 Recommended for ages 4-8 Miss Brigitte will read some stories about her favorite mythical monster & show you a cool winter yeti craft in this storytime. Rawr! Limited supplies for a Take & Make yeti craft will be available on the same day the program premieres on our YouTube channel, December 28 @ 11 am. Changes Coming in January! Library is Launching into Fine Free! Beginning January 1 the Library will permanently go fine free!  No overdue fines on materials checked out at OBPL.  Existing overdue fines are waived.  All items are 2 week check-outs with 5 auto-renewals.  Account is blocked if an item is 14 days overdue until returned (21 days during COVID quarantine).  Items overdue for 42 days are considered lost and billed at cost.
