Community Organization
of the Month
Hinsdale Humane Society
The Hinsdale Humane Society (HHS)
has been a significant contributor to the animal welfare
community for 66 years.
In November 2018, HHS opened the Tuthill Family
Pet Rescue & Resource Center, which expanded
their capacity for rescue by 150%. This allowed them
to provide more innovative and necessary programs
to the community, transformed services and added
exciting, industry-leading initiatives that provide
compassionate care and foster the positive benefits of
the human-animal bond.
The Hinsdale Humane Society is proud to hold a
Guidestar Platinum Seal of Transparency.
What Can You Do To Get
Involved?
The Hinsdale Humane Society is
in need of donations. Please visit

eResources Updates
RBdigital has joined Overdrive! On August 31, all
content from the RBdigital platform will migrate to
Overdrive. If you are looking for eAudiobooks,
Overdrive and its Libby app will be your one stop
for content. All our eBooks and eAudiobooks are available to
anyone with a valid Oak Brook library card.
RBdigital Magazines (formerly Zinio) will also be migrating to
Overdrive and the Libby app in the coming months.
If you are looking for more options for research, the Library
has acquired a number of new EBSCO databases at no
additional cost. These include Legal Information Reference
Center, Literary Reference Center, Points of View Reference
Center, Auto Repair Source and more. These can be found on
the Electronic Resources page of the Library’s website. These
databases can also be used through the EBSCO Mobile app
(available in the app store).
We might not have any crafts for you to do at the Library this fall, but we do
have crafts for you to do at home! Each Take & Make kit is created with a
specific age group in mind. We will only have a limited quantity of each kit.
They will be available on a first come, first served basis along with their
accompanying storytime/activity video on the date that is stated. There is no
reserving a kit. Once the kits are gone, we will post a notification on the
Library’s Event Calendar. No reservations necessary.
