Virtual Tutorial: Meet Libby! Downloading Ebooks and Audiobooks

Want to learn how to check out electronic books and audiobooks to your phone or tablet using the
Libby for Overdrive App? Join Adult Reference Librarian Jean as she provides an online tutorial to
show you how to install the Libby app and download library eBooks and/or eAudiobooks to your
device. This video will be available on the Library’s YouTube channel on Thursday, February 4.
Virtual Book Talk: In Case You Missed It - Recent Non-Fiction Titles

Join Reference Librarian Camille as she reviews several recently published non-fiction titles you may
have overlooked. This video will be available on the Library’s YouTube channel on February 18.
Virtual Craft: Take & Make Dog Toy
Thursday, February 25 on YouTube
Reference Assistant Nancy will provide an online tutorial for making this super easy braided dog
toy using upcycled materials. Those without dog friends can bring their toys back to the Library
to be donated to the Hinsdale Humane Society. Pick up a pre-bagged craft kit curbside. This
program premieres on the Library’s YouTube channel on February 25 and materials are available
through curbside to pick up the same day. Supplies are limited.

Library has Launched into Fine Free!
Beginning January 1 the Library has gone permanently
fine free!
No overdue fines on materials checked out at OBPL.
Existing overdue fines are waived.
All items 2 week check-outs,
5 auto-renewals if no holds.
Account is blocked if an item is 14
days overdue until returned (21 days
during COVID quarantine).
Items overdue for 42 days are
considered lost and billed at cost.
Digital Magazines are Moving!
RBdigital Magazines is joining Overdrive and the
Libby app! On February 1, all content from the
RBdigital Magazines platform (formerly Zinio) will
migrate to Overdrive. All our digital magazines, as well as all
eBooks and eAudiobooks, are available to anyone with a valid
Oak Brook library card.
New Catalog is Here!
The Library is excited to test out a new
online catalog on February 1. The new
catalog will exist alongside the current
catalog. It will contain tons of new features and yield better
search results. We are excited to hear your feedback.

Reading Is Out Of This World!
It’s not too late!
Escape the realities of this world and
enter into the world of a good book. Win
prizes! Both the adult and children’s
programs continue through Saturday, February 27. Be sure
