WHEREAS, the Oak Brook Athlete of the Year Award
Program was initiated by Paul Butler and awarded by the Oak Brook
Presidents Club since 1974;and
WHEREAS,each year the athletic directors of nine publicand
private high schools serving Oak Brook are asked to nominate an
outstanding senior female and male who participated in a lettered
individual or team sport,and
WHEREAS,this year Kayla Byrne was nominated from Hinsdale
Central High School and awarded Oak Brook Athlete of the Year for her
exceptional participation in Cross Country and Track over her four years
of high school;and
WHEREAS, this year Ethan Harrast was nominated from
Hinsdale Central High School and awarded Oak Brook Athlete of the Year
for his extraordinary participation in Baseball over his four years of high
school.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gopal G. Lalmalani, by virtue of the
authority vested in me as President of the Village of Oak Brook,do hereby
proclaim and recognize these two outstanding athletes of 2019.
