Whereas, art dates back as early as mankind with caveman drawings and has
evolved, through culture and humanity; and
Whereas, arts, culture and humanities are the embodiment of all things beautiful
and entertaining in the world — the enduring record of human achievement; and
Whereas, the arts, culture and humanities enhance every aspect of life in the
Village of Oak Brook, improving our economy, enriching our civic life, driving tourism,
and exerting a profound positive influence on the education of our children; and
Whereas arts, education research shows that the arts help to foster discipline,
creativity, imagination, self-expression, and problem solving skills while also helping to
develop a heightened appreciation of beauty and cross-cultural understanding; and
Whereas the month of October has been recognized as Arts DuPage Month by
Arts DuPage and the arts and cultural organizations in all the communities in DuPage
County:
Now, Therefore, I, Gopal G. Lalmalani, by virtue of the authority vested in me
as President of the Village of Oak Brook, do hereby proclaim October, 2021 as Arts
DuPage Month in the Village of Oak Brook.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 12th day of
October 2021 and call upon all residents of Oak Brook to celebrate and promote
the arts and culture in DuPage County.
