FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Oak Brook Police Department Assist with a Motor Vehicle
Theft
Oak Brook, IL – December 8th, 2021 – On 12/05/21 at 11:43 am, the
Westchester Police Department notified the Oak Brook Police Department of a stolen
motor vehicle from their town. Oak Brook Patrol units began searching for a white
Ford Ranger with Illinois registration plates.
An Oak Brook officer observed the stolen Ford Ranger Westbound 22nd Street, East
of Route 83. Oak Brook Officers attempted to stop the vehicle using their emergency
lights and sirens. However, the car fled the attempted traffic stop at a high rate of
speed. The Ford ignored other cars on the roadway, ignored traffic signals, traffic
signs, roadway markings, and exceeded the speed limit. Oak Brook Officers followed
the car to where it eventually stopped near Riverside Drive in Elmhurst. The driver
and passenger exited the Ford and fled into the neighborhood near Riverside Drive.
With the assistance of the Oakbrook Terrace Police Department, the Villa Park Police
Department, the Elmhurst Police Department, and the Westchester Police
Department, the officers took Thomas L. Perry and a juvenile into custody. Felony
charges were approved for both offenders for possession of a stolen motor vehicle
and aggravated fleeing of a peace officer.
