20150417 Hydrant Test Press Release~ GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY ~
1953 ~ 2003
OAK BROOK
FIRE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
To determine the quantity of water available for fire protection, the Oak Brook
Fire Department in cooperation with the Oak Brook Water Department, will be
conducting annual hydrant flow testing and routine maintenance in a number of
specific areas of the Village’s water distribution system. This year’s flow
testing is being scheduled during the months of April and May, with additional
tests occurring during the months of July and August. Flow testing will be
conducted between the hours of 09:00 am and 03:00 pm. As a reminder, signs
will be posted in those areas identified for the testing the day before the testing
occurs.
This process could dislodge sediment that may result in cloudy or discolored
water, but it is not harmful in any way. Simply allowing water faucets to run
for approximately 5-10 minutes will generally clear up any cloudiness or
discoloration.
If there are any questions regarding this event, please contact the Oak Brook
Fire Department at 630-368-5200.
