Village of Oak Brook Water Rate to Increase
Water Bill Payment Direct Debit Incentive Program Introduced
Oak Brook, Illinois (December 22, 2011, 3:00 P1Vn —Effective January 1, 2012, the Village of Oak
Brook will raise its water billing rates from the current rate of $4.59 to $5.65 (five dollars and sixty five
cents) for Oak Brook residents and for non residents from the current rate of $5.74 to $7.05 (seven dollars
and five cents) per 1,000 gallons. This rate increase is due in large part to the increases from the City of
Chicago, which are passed through the DuPage Water Commission. In May 2011, the DWC raised our
bulk water rates by 10%. In October 2011 they announced additional increases of 30% in 2012, 20% in
2013, 18% in 2014 and 17% in 2015. The adjustment in our rates will also insure the availability of funds
necessary to maintain, replace and repair the existing water main infras
tructure.
The Village would like to introduce an incentive for water customers to sign up for our duect debit water
bill payment program and a reward for those who already take advantage of this convenience. The direct
debit program automatically deducts the amount due on your water bill from your checking or savings
account on the bill due date. If you enroll in or continue to participate in this program you will be given a
$1.00 credit per month on your water bill We are also offering the convenience of having your water bill
emailed to you. Enrollment forms and more information can be found on our website at www.oak-
brook.ora or by contacting the water billing department at 630.368.5090 or creid ,oak-brook.org.
