Oak Brook Police to Temporarily Close Roadways Due to Anticipated Protest
OAK BROOK, II, —May 2014 —The Service Employees International Union (SEN) has notified the
Oak Brook Police Department of their intent to hold a demonstration in support of the campaign to
increase the minimum wage of "quick service" restaurant employees to $15 per hour. The demonstration
is scheduled to begin on Wednesday May 21" at approximately 12:OOPM. The duration of the
demonstration is unknown.
We are anticipating the intermittent closw•e of several roadways to provide for the safety of those
participating in the demonstration as they march from Jorie Blvd. and Kensington Rd. to 22nd St. and
McDonald's Dr. Roadways that will be impacted by the closures will include:
• The intersection of Jorie Blvd. and Kensington Rd.
• N/B Jorie Blvd. from Kensington Rd.
• The intersection of Jorie Blvd. and 22"d St.
• W/B 22"d St. from Jorie Blvd. to McDonald's Dr.
• McDonald's Dr. from 22"d St. to Commerce Dr.
With the exception of McDonald's Dr., we anticipate the closures to occur between approximately
12:30PM and 1:15PM. McDonald's Dr. will be closed from approximately 1:00PM until the conclusion
of the demonstration.
