Oalc l�>r ook Police Participate in Distracted Driving Campaign
Oak Brook, IL—February 28, 2014. April is Distracted Driving Awareness month. In an effort
to make our roads safer, the Oak Brook Police Department will participate in the "One Text or
Call Could Wreck It All" campaign to stop distracted driving. Distracted drivers are not only a
danger to themselves, but to everyone else on the road.

Brook Police Department is committed to reducing crashes caused by inattentive drivers." said

In 2012, 3,328 people were killed in crashes involving a distracted driver and an estimated
additional421,000 were injured iii motor vehicle crashes involving a distracted driver. That
same year, 11 % of fatal crashes were reported as distraction -affected crashes.
