Oak Brook Police Department Announces Labor Day
Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Results
OAK BROOK, IL —September 2014 —The Oak Brook Police Department joined forces with other
state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the Illinois Labor Day campaign, The
campaign featured high -visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities which
included a strategic media campaign as well as additional enforcement activity. Extra emphasis was
given to the late-night hours when statistics show the highest number of motorists drink and drive and the
fewest buckle up.
During the mobilization, the Oak BrookPolice Department issued:
• 21 occupant restraint violations
• 13 speeding citations
• 5 Uninsured Motor Vehicle citations
• 1 suspended/revoked driver's license violations
• 5 other citations
• 10 electronic device/cell phone citations
This law enforcement crackdown was fimded by federal traffic safety grants through IDOT's
Division of Traffic Safety and is part of the statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click
It or Ticket" campaigns.
