Oak Broolc Police Respond to a Crash at Neiman Marcus
Oal< Broolc, IL— On October 27, 2014 at approximately 2:52 PM, the Oak Brook
Police Department responded to a vehicle crash at 6 Oakbrook Center, Neiman
Marcus. A vehicle, occupied by the driver and passenger, backed out of a parking
space. As the vehicle began to move forward, the driver inadvertently
accelerated and struck a parked vehicle, causing a chain reaction and striking 2
additional vehicles. The driver attempted to reverse the vehicle, and improperly
backed into two (2) additional vehicles, ultimately coming to rest in the south
vestibule of Neiman Marcus. The vestibule was not occupied at the time of the
collision.
The driver and passenger were transported to Elmhurst Hospital and were
released the same day. The driver, a 68 year old male from Warrenville, was cited
for improper backing and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The
parked vehicles involved were all unoccupied at the time of the crash.
