Oak Brook Police Responds to Commercial Burglary

OAK BROOK, IL—September 2014—
At approximately 4:04 AM on September 7th, the Oak Brook Police Department responded
to a report of an in -progress commercial burglary at Louis Vuitton in Oakbrook Center Mall.
Within moments, officers arrived and determined unknown offender(s) had forced entry to
the store by driving a minivan through the front door, causing extensive damage. Once entry
was made, eight individuals wearing masks and gloves entered the store, while the driver
remained inside the van. The offenders removed numerous items of merchandise and fled
the scene.
The estimated value of the loss is in excess of $120,000, including over 50 pieces of
merchandise. Store surveillance video shows the (8) unknown offenders wearing masks and
gloves. The video is not being released at this time due to the case being actively
investigated.
There is no information to lead us to believe this incident is related to other similar incidents.
