20221219 22-13 Oak Brook Holiday Roundup Oak Brook Police Department 1200 Oak Brook Road Oak Brook, IL 60523 (630) 368-8702 Contact: Officer Katie Yager Public Information Officer (630) 368-8734 cyager@oak-brook.org FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Oak Brook Holiday Roundup Oak Brook, IL – The Oak Brook Police Department, DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office would like to thank Macy’s and Nordstrom loss prevention establishments for all their efforts in the Oak Brook Holiday Roundup that took place on Saturday, December 17, 2022. The following five offenders were arrested and charged. On 12/17/22 at approximately 12:29 p.m. Oak Brook Officers responded to the parking lot of 2155 22nd St., near the TJ Maxx Store for a male black in a red minivan allegedly waving a gun over a parking spot dispute. Oak Brook Officers located the red minivan with a male black inside and identified him as; Brandon C. Hammond. During the course of this investigation, Hammond was interviewed and taken into custody by Detectives on scene. According to the complaint, Hammond placed his hand on his right hip and stated not verbatim “I have 12 for you” then lifted his sweatshirt revealing a black Taurus G3 semi- automatic pistol loaded and chambered. Officers subsequently located said weapon. Hammond was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct. Hammond, Brandon C. 07/22/1990 345 S 22nd Ave. Apt. C Bellwood, IL 60104 On 12/17/22 at approximately 4:29 p.m. Oak Brook Officers responded to Macy’s, 1 Oakbrook Center, for a retail theft in progress with three subject’s allegedly concealing merchandise. One male was wearing a grey baseball cap and a light grey sweatshirt, and the two females were wearing black jackets with white ski caps. Upon arrival, Officers located the offenders who were exiting the west doors of the store. Macy’s security with the assistance of Oak Brook’s Special Response Team (SRT) placed all three subjects in custody. The male was identified as Jaumer N. Gonzalez-Lopez, and the females were identified as; Jineth P. Villamin-Castro and Kathleen Sanchez, who were positively identified by Macy’s as the offenders in this case. After a search of all offenders, a total of $817.49 in Macy's merchandise was located on their persons. All were arrested, and this case was screened with DuPage County State's Attorney’s Office who approved two (2) felony counts of Burglary and Retail Theft for each Gonzalez- Lopez, Villamin-Castro, and Sanchez. All were booked, processed, and transported to DuPage County Jail with Jineth P. Villamin-Castro having an I.C.E. detainer placed on her. Gonzalez-Lopez, Jaumer N. Sanchez, Kathleen Villamin-Castro, Jineth P. 01/14/2004 09/19/1994 05/18/1997 Unknown address Unknown address Unknown address On 12/17/22 at approximately 8:19 p.m. Oak Brook Officers responded to Nordstrom, 10 Oakbrook Center, for a retail theft in progress with one male black subject wearing a GAP zipper sweatshirt who allegedly selected and concealed three Creed men’s colognes totaling $1335.00. Upon arrival, Officers were advised the subject exited the east doors of the store. After a short foot pursuit, Oak Brook’s Special Response Team (SRT) placed the offender in custody, and the male was identified as Darius MJ. Duffie. Nordstrom security positively identified the offender in this case. After a search of Duffie one item of Creed cologne was on his person, and two were located outside the store in the path of the foot pursuit. Duffie was arrested, and this case was screened with DuPage County State's Attorney’s Office who approved two (2) felony counts one for Burglary and one for Retail Theft.
