Winter Reading Ends March 4! Save the Date! Evergreen Concert Sunday, April 30 @ 3 pm The Friends of the Library are thrilled to present a performance by The StingRays, a Chicago-based group featuring 50s, 60s and 70s rock & roll hits. Mango Languages Did you know you can learn a new language with Mango Languages? Anyone with an Oak Brook library card can access a personalized, adaptive language-learning experience with over 70 languages! Ask about Mango at the Reference Desk and receive a free pen while supplies last. Storytimes Registration required and masks encouraged. Afterschool Storytime with Miss Theresa Wednesdays, March 15 & 22 @ 4:30 pm Children attend this program independently. They will wiggle and giggle while they interact with books, songs and a craft. Ages 4-7 Tales for 2s & 3s Storytime with Miss Irene Tuesdays, March 14 & 21 @ 10:30 am This is a perfect program to introduce little ones to the library. We'll enjoy some good books, sing songs, dance, do fingerplays, and more! We'll also make a craft related to the theme of the day. A caregiver must stay with each child during the program. Ages 2-3 Weekly Programs Registration required and masks encouraged. Crafternoons with Miss Brigitte Thursdays, March 16 & 23 @ 4:30 pm Join Miss Brigitte’s craft club! Every week we will do a new craft based on an artist or theme! There is a strict age requirement as some crafts require advanced fine motor skills. Ages 8-12 Saturday Morning Chess Club Saturdays, March 4, 11, 18 & 25 @ 10-11:30 am This club is open to players who already have an understanding of the game. It is a club, not a team, so players are welcome to join us to improve their game and play. Grades K-8 Sponsored by the Friends of the Library Special Programs Registration required and masks encouraged. National Library Week Bookmark Contest! March 1 – April 1 We’re celebrating National Library Week (April 23-29) with a bookmark designed by you! Create a “Wild About Books” bookmark. Three - five winners will receive a gift card to Michaels Crafts store as well as 24 laminated bookmarks of their design. The Library will also have the design winning bookmarks available for patrons during National Library Week! Pick up entry forms at the Library or download from our website & turn in your design to the Youth Desk through the first of April. Ben’s Bubble Show Saturday, March 11 @ 1 - 2 pm Join us for this very cool interactive show which is for people age 3 to 103! Ben Jimenez will perform bubble magic, illusions, & sculptures. All Ages Write Stuff Tuesdays, March 14 & 21 @ 4:30-5:15 pm This program is open to all types of writers from creative, non-fiction, poetry, or even essays. Each meeting we will talk about a different element of writing and do an exercise to help develop your writing skills but most of the time will be dedicated to writing time or one-on- one help. Sharing your work with the other participants is encouraged but will never be mandatory. Grades 6-8 Spring Break Bingo Thursday, March 30 @ 2 - 3:30 pm Looking for something to do? Join us for afternoon bingo! Bring a friend or two, have an enjoyable time, & win a wide assortment of prizes! All ages of children welcome! Youth Pickup Crafts Stop by and pick up a fun craft to make at home! Supplies limited - first come, first served.
