Illinois Watercolor Society Meeting & Demonstration
Saturday, April 1 @ 2 pm
Artist Mary Ellen Segraves will present a free watercolor
demonstration. All are welcome.
Chunky Crochet Garland Adult Class
Wednesday, April 5 @ 7 pm
Join OBPL staff for a hands-on lesson to create a fun spring garland
using super bulky yarn and a crochet hook. All supplies will be
provided and yarn choices will be in springtime colors.

Alzheimer’s Association Presents Managing Money:
A Caregiver’s Guide to Finances

Don't let caregiving costs get the best of you and your finances. Jim Sullivan from
the Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will discuss how you can plan and
equip yourself with financial strategies for your caregiving journey. Resource
materials and presentation handouts will be provided at the program.

The current OverDrive app will be discontinued on May 1 and you’ll need to
switch to Libby, OverDrive’s newer reading app. You can still use the current
OverDrive app for now, but we recommend upgrading to Libby today. It’s easy
to use and full of fun features.

Join Miss Brigitte’s craft club! Every week we
will do a new craft based on an artist or theme!
There is a strict age requirement as some
crafts require advanced fine motor skills.

This club is open to players who already
have an understanding of the game. It is a
club, not a team, so players are welcome to

National Library Week Bookmark Contest!
March 1 – April 1
We’re celebrating National Library Week
(April 23-29) with a bookmark designed
by you! Create a “Wild About Books”
bookmark. Three - five winners
will receive a gift card to Michaels Crafts
store as well as 24 laminated bookmarks
of their design. Pick up entry forms at
the Library or download from our web-
site & turn in your design to the Youth
Desk through the first of April. The winners will
be announced at the beginning of National Library Week!
Write Stuff with Miss Dominique
Tuesdays, April 4 & 18 @ 4:30-5:15 pm
This program is open to all types
of writers from creative, non-fiction,
poetry, or even essays. Each
meeting we will talk about a
different element of writing and do
an exercise to help develop your writing skills but most of
the time will be dedicated to writing time or one-on-one
help. Sharing your work with the other participants is
encouraged but will never be mandatory. Grades 6-8

Afterschool Storytime with Miss Theresa
Wednesdays, April 5, 12, 19 & 26 @ 4:30 pm
Children attend this program independently. They will
wiggle and giggle while they interact with books, songs
and a craft. Ages 4-7
Tales for 2s & 3s Storytime with Miss Irene
Tuesdays, April 11, 18 & 25 @ 10:30 am
No program on April 4 due to election.
This is a perfect program to introduce
little ones to the library. We'll enjoy
some good books, sing songs, dance,
do fingerplays, and more! We'll also
make a craft related to the theme of
the day. A caregiver must stay with
each child during the program.

Bring Your Own Toy to StoryTime with Ms. Z
Thursdays, April 6, & 20 @ 10:30 am
Join Zainub Fiaz as she shares stories
and songs that celebrate diversity for
infants and toddlers. The storytime
session will end with some social
interaction as the children play with their
favorite toy from home. Ages 0-3
Youth Pickup Crafts

Oak Brook Park District at the Library
A representative of the Oak Brook Park District will
be at the Library every first Monday of the month in
2023 from 3 pm through 4 pm to answer questions.
