Light refreshments provided. Urdu Literature Event Wednesday, November 13 @ 7 pm Join Dr. Ghazala Siddiqui in celebrating the Urdu language. We invite all patrons to share an Urdu poem, a favored excerpt from a text, or something you have written. Adult Craft with Librarian Theresa: Winter Luminary Wednesday, November 20 @ 7 pm Librarian Theresa will walk you through how to create your own luminary. Perfect for winter decorating! Illinois Watercolor Society Meeting & Demonstration Featuring Artist Maria Delton Saturday, November 30 @ 2 pm The Illinois Watercolor Society meeting will feature a demonstration with artist Maria Delton. As an artist Maria states "I paint what makes me stop & stare, usually while on my way to something else. Unexpected, unplanned & often overlooked, the tension between a boring subject that is perfectly lit or composed is irresistible to me & I paint to share the surprise with others.” The Library will close Wednesday, November 27 at 5 pm & will reopen Saturday, November 30 at 9:30 am Recurring Programs English Language Conversation Group Tuesdays @ 6pm Practice your speaking & listening skills with Librarian Hubbell & others. Beacon Book Club Thursday, November 14 @ 10 am The Beacon Book Club will be reading the Pulitzer Prize winning memoir “Lost & Found” by Kathryn Schulz. After a long illness, Schulz loses her father & manages to find love while grieving. Books are available at the circulation desk. All are welcome! Toddling 2s & 3s with Miss Theresa Tuesdays, November 12 & 26 @ 10:30 am Join Miss Theresa as she reads books, sings songs, dances, & more! We will make a craft related to the theme of the day. A caregiver must stay with each child during this program. Registration is required for each child. Ages 2-3 Baby Storytime with Miss Irene Wednesdays, November 6 & 20 @ 10:30 am We’ll share stories & songs perfect for little ones. Registration for each baby is required. Ages 6 - 18 months with a caregiver for each baby. Saturday, November 9 @ 1 pm Cook the Book Club is the perfect place to share tips & tricks, ideas & information. Pick a recipe that fits the monthly theme, either from a book at the library or from your own personal cookbook. Bring in a portion to feed 8-10 people. The library will provide the rest! All ages welcome; families encouraged. Andertoons Cartooning Workshop: Turkey Toons! Saturday, November 23 @ 1 pm Follow along local artist & cartoonist Mark Anderson as he walks you through making some hilarious turkey toons. Ages 8 & up.
