THE OAK BROOK FIREFIGHTERS’ PENSION FUND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
APRIL 3, 2024
A special meeting of the Oak Brook Firefighters’ Pension Fund Board of Trustees was held on Wednesday,
April 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room in the Butler Government Center, located at
1200 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, Illinois 60523, pursuant to notice.
CALL TO ORDER: President Fagan called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: President John Fagan (via teleconference), Trustees Michael Lamplot, Rob Ebsen
and Mark Bahnsen
ABSENT: Trustee Mike McCarthy
ALSO PRESENT: Amy Weslow, Lauterbach & Amen, LLP (L&A); Applicant Attorney Scott Moran,
Law Offices of Thomas W. Duda; Attorney Richard Reimer, Reimer Dobrovolny
and LaBardi, PC; Natalie Sinclair, Member of the Public; Court Reporter Patty
Schelli, Schelli Reporting Service
The Board discussed the remote attendance and full participation of President Fagan under Section 7(a) of
the Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120/7(a)) due to personal illness or disability, employment purposes or
business of the Fund, or family or other emergency.
PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment.
OLD BUSINESS: Discussion/Possible Action – Surviving Spouse Benefits – Natalie Sinclair: A court
reporter was present and a verbatim transcript was taken of the meeting.
Attorney Reimer, Attorney Moran, Patti Schelli and Natalie Sinclair left the meeting at 2:15 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS: Discussion/Possible Action – Actuarial Assumptions: The Board discussed the actuarial
assumptions and required information that remains outstanding in order for the actuarial valuation to be
completed. A motion was made by Trustee Fagan and seconded by Trustee Bahnsen to issue a FOIA request
to the Village of Oak Brook requesting a copy of the 2023 Village audit. Motion carried unanimously by
voice vote.
Attorney Moran and Natalie Sinclair rejoined the meeting at 2:20 p.m.
Attorney Moran and Natalie Sinclair left the meeting at 2:26 p.m.
Discussion/Possible Action – Actuarial Services Consultant: The Board discussed their current actuary
services consultant. A motion was made by Trustee Fagan and seconded by Trustee Lamplot to continue to
retain Foster & Foster as their actuary services consultant. Motion carried by roll call vote.
