contained in the personnel manual. Consensus regarding this. Village Attorney Sterk stated
that the Union has provided a full contract for the Village to review.
FIRE UNION RETROACTIVE PAY – Village Manager Niemeyer explained that there is an
increase in personnel costs in the general fund, partially due to being in the fourth year of
accumulating retroactive pay for the Fire Union.
Finance Director Sharon Dangles entered the meeting at approximately 9:57 p.m.
Village Manager Niemeyer stated that these are similar assumptions as with the Police Union
and if the contract is settled next year, the total amount of retroactive pay could be about
$610,000. He stated that $387,500 was budgeted for this and might have to dip into the
reserves if the retroactive amount ends up being what is predicted. Discussion ensued
regarding same, current union contract, outsourcing, fire protection districts and contract with
PSI.
POLICE: Village Attorney Sterk stated that interest arbitration is set for December 7th. He
discussed arguments the FOP might make and reasons for moving discipline to arbitration.
