HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 12/09/2014 - Firefighter's Pension Fund BoardMINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OAK BROOK FIREFIGHTERS’ PENSION FUND December 9, 2014 A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Oak Brook Firefighters’ Pension Fund was held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 9:00 a.m., at the Butler Government Center, West Wing Conference Room located at 1200 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL 60523, pursuant to notice, to conduct special business. CALL TO ORDER BY PRESIDING OFFICER President Michael Erickson called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m. ROLL CALL Upon roll call the following answered: Present: President Michael Erickson, Secretary John Fagan, Trustee Mark Fleishman, Trustee Timothy Schlindwein and Trustee George Kouba Absent: None Also Present: Becky Davis of Lauterbach & Amen, LLP (L&A); Cathy Doczekalski, Asst. Acting Village Manager; Attorney Mark E. Burkland, of Holland & Knight; William Lindeman, Retired Firefighter. PUBLIC COMMENT – Mr. Lindeman distributed and commented on an email he sent to the Village Trustees and the Fire Chief regarding current fire safety issues and his concerns to reduce injuries in the Fire Department. Mr. Lindeman ended his public comment at 9:04 a.m. OLD BUSINESS The Board discussed the Decision and Order on the disability application of Lt. Mark Schoppe. A motion was made by Trustee Fagan and seconded by Trustee Fleishman to adopt and publish the written Decision and Order on the disability application of Lt. Mark Schoppe. AYES: Trustees Erickson, Fagan, Schlindwein and Fleishman NAYS: None ABSENT: None RECUSED: Trustee Kouba The Board discussed the Decision and Order on the disability application of FF Jennifer White. A motion was made by Trustee Kouba and seconded by Trustee Schlindwein to adopt and publish the written Decision and Order on the disability application of FF Jennifer White. AYES: Trustees Erickson, Fagan, Schlindwein, Fleishman and Kouba NAYS: None ABSENT: None Trustee Kouba commented on fire safety and suggested that the Fire Chief be invited to a Board meeting to discuss safety within the Fire Department. The next regular meeting is scheduled for January 29, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. CLOSED SESSION – The Board agreed there was no need to hold a closed session. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Trustee Schlindwein and seconded by Trustee Kouba to adjourn the meeting at 9:12 a.m. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
