OAK BROOK POLICE PENSION FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
JUNE 17, 2021
A special meeting of the Oak Brook Police Pension Fund Board of Trustees was held on Thursday, June
17, 2021 at 6:15 p.m. in the Upper-Level Conference Room at the Butler Government Center located at
1200 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, Illinois 60523, pursuant to notice.
CALL TO ORDER: Trustee Torlo called the meeting to order at 6:24 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: Trustees Velia Torlo (via videoconference), Alan Feldman, Ed Caspers, Hitesh
Patel and Reid Foltyniewicz
ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT: Molly Weslow, Lauterbach & Amen, LLP (L&A); Rose Kane, Member of the
Public
PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment.
APPLICATIONS FOR RETIREMENT/DISABILITY BENEFITS: Approve Duty Disability Benefit –
John Jacobs: The Board reviewed the duty disability benefit calculation for John Jacobs prepared by L&A.
Patrol Officer Jacobs had an entry date of January 21, 1997, disability date of April 30, 2019, effective date
of pension of May 1, 2019, 62 years of age at date of disability, 22 years of creditable service, applicable
salary of $102,762.00, applicable pension percentage of 65%, amount of originally granted monthly pension
of $5,566.28 and amount of originally granted annual pension of $66,795.36. A motion was made by
Trustee Foltyniewicz and seconded by Trustee Patel to approve John Jacobs’ duty disability benefit
calculated by L&A. Motion carried by roll call vote.
AYES: Trustees Torlo, Feldman, Caspers, Patel and Foltyniewicz
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None
CLOSED SESSION, IF NEEDED: There was no need for closed session.
ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Trustee Caspers and seconded by Patel to adjourn the meeting
at 6:31 p.m. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 29, 2021 at 6:15 p.m.
