URDU LITERATURE AND POETRY SHARING

The Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives orthemes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.Please Join Librarian Erin and Alejandro Salinas of the Chicago Death Doula Collective aswe gather to safely and positively explore death via conversation and community.

ADULT CRAFT NIGHT WITH LIBRARIAN THERESA: WOODLAND HOLIDAY HANGER SETWednesday, November 19 at 7 pm
Attendees will receive three wooden circles to create a set of festive hangers/ornamentsfor the upcoming holidays or winter season. Paint, ribbon, glitter, and other decorative supplies will be provided.

Recycle broken or unwanted lights at the Library through our partnership with Elgin Recycling! Look for the bin in the staff parking lot (across from the book returns).Since the box is outside, you can drop off any time that is convenient for you. Only holiday lights are accepted. Please do not include other holiday decorations!

Become a teen volunteer! The Library offers volunteer opportunities to students entering 8 through 12grades. Volunteer duties include assisting library staff with patron holdrequests, sorting and shelving materials, and helping librarians with in-personchildren’s programming like story times and other special projects.

Applications are available online and in the Library. Each applicant mustcomplete an application and a short alphabetization quiz to participate.Volunteers receive a confirmation letter of their hours at the end of the sessionfor any extracurricular service hour obligations.
