MINUTES OF THE JULY 15, 2025 REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY COMMISSION
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON JANUARY 20, 2026.
1. CALL TO ORDER: CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Library Commission was called to order by Chairperson Petz in the
Library Meeting Room.
2. ROLL CALL:
Chairperson Petz called the roll with the following persons
PRESENT: Commissioners Anthony DiCanio, Susan Epstein, Mark Moy, Roberta Petz,
Steven Stawarz
ABSENT: Commissioner Paul Jones
IN ATTENDANCE: Head Librarian Jacob Post, Program Coordinator Brigitte Crowder, Trustee
Liaison Edward Tiesenga

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
There were motions to approve the minutes of the regular Library Commission Meeting of April
15, 2025 as written. All in favor; none opposed.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. UPDATE ON TEEN ADVISORY GROUP:
Program Coordinator Crowder and the Teen Advisory group helped with the Summer Reading
kickoff event. The group wants to do more events geared towards teens. One idea is to have study
sessions during school midterms, possibly with food and drink available. There was also talk about
taking residents’ oral histories.

A. CHAIRPERSON:
Chairperson Petz discussed celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the
declaration of independence at the Library. She also discussed the lack of federal funding for
libraries.
B. HEAD LIBRARIAN:
Head Librarian Post discussed the replacement part for the train table in the Youth Services area.
C. COMMISSIONERS:
Commissioner Moy informed the Commission that the Oak Brook Art League is creating a group
painting for the Library.
