MINUTES OF THE MAY 29, 2026 SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON

1. CALL TO ORDER
The Special Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was called to order by President Laurence E. Herman
in the Samuel E. Dean Boardroom of the Butler Government Center at 10:04 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance
was recited.
2. ROLL CALL
Administrative Assistant Sylwia Slodyczka called the roll:
PRESENT: Trustees Naveen Jain, Michael Manzo, Melissa Martin, and President Laurence E. Herman
VIA ZOOM: Trustee Tiesenga
ABSENT: Trustees A. Suresh Reddy, John Anos arrived at 10:06 a.m., Village Clerk Netasha Scarpiniti,
IN ATTENDANCE: Village Manager Greg Summers, and Village Attorney Sam Tornatore

A. Ordinances & Resolutions
1. Resolution R-2372, An Amended Resolution Conditionally Authorizing the Withdrawal of the
Village of Oak Brook from the Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency (IRMA)
President Herman asked Village Manager Summers to present Resolution R-2372.
Village Manager Summers stated that prior to consideration of this Agenda Item and in follow-up
to the most recent court proceedings, his request was to have the Board adjourn to executive
session to consider litigation probable or imminent or pending against, affecting, or on behalf of
the Village, Pursuant to section 2(C)(11) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
MOTION: To Approve Resolution R-2372, An Amended Resolution Conditionally Authorizing
the Withdrawal of the Village of Oak Brook from the Intergovernmental Risk Management
Agency (IRMA)
Motioned: Trustee Manzo
Seconded: Trustee Jain
President Herman stated that the Board will Adjourn to a Closed Session based on Village
Manager Summers' recommendation.
MOTION: Motion to Adjourn SPECIAL Board of Trustees Meeting to a Closed Session at
10:06 a.m. to consider litigation probable or imminent or pending against, affecting, or on behalf
of the Village, Pursuant to section 2(C)(11) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
