RESOLUTION NO. R-T1,
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE
DUPAGE MAYORS AND MANAGERS CONFERENCE JOINT
PURCHASING CO-OPERATIVE
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook desires to participate in
programs designated to broaden the effectiveness of public services
and to facilitate intergovernmenatal cooperation, which will provide
economies and efficiencies in operations; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook desires to achieve economies
in operations through participation in a program of coordinated
and joint purchasing of supplies and contractual services; and
WHEREAS, Article VII, Section 10 of the Constitution of the
State of Illinois, and the Intergovernmental Cooperations Act of
1973 authorize governmental units to participate in such a program;
and
WHEREAS, the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference, hereafter
called "Conference" has been authorized by its Board of Directors
to'enter into agreements upon behalf of the participating govern-
mental units for the purchase of joint purchasing, and to establish
a Joint Purchasing Co-Operative, hereafter referred to as "Co-Operative"
• to facilitate such; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook may find it cost effective to
purchase supplies difd services as provided by the "Co-Operative";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ;IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF TH; VILLAGE..OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS that the Village of Oak Brook desires membership in the
"Co-Operative" created to 2acilitate joint purchasing, and does
authorize and appoint - VILLAGE UAW tp enter into
agreements on its behalf: for the joint purchase ofgoods. or services;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the attached "Co- perative" guide-
lines, which;may be amended`-from` time to tine, embody the opera-
tional and administrative policies for the "Co-Operative"; and
BE IT FURTHER- RESOLVED that the Village o k
af Oa *Brook does
authorize and direct the various departments within the municipality
to fully cooperate with the "Co-Operative"; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village of f"ak Brook may with-
draw from the "Co-Operative"at any-'time by priding written notice
with certified proof of repeal of this enabling:•resolution; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pending repeal of this enabling
resolution Village of Oak Brook shall be subject by this enabling
resolution to automatic renewal; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED.that the Village of Oak Brook transmits
certified copies of this resolution to the DuPage Mayors and Managers
Conference.
