G-179 - 03/23/1976 - TRAFFIC - Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. ,1--/7r. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. G-177, THE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DUPAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook find that the parking or stopping of vehicles in certain areas within the Village obstructs the movement and use of emergency vehicles, and WHEREAS, the obstruction of the movement and use of emergency vehicles creates a hazard to the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens and property within the Village of Oak Brook, and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees deem the passage of this Ordinance to be in the best interests and pursuant to the public safety of the Village of Oak Brook. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois, as follows: SECTION 1: The provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby restated and incorporated herein as though herein fully set forth. SECTION 2: Section 1-1302 of Ordinance No. G-177, is hereby amended by the addition of the following subsection (c) thereto: (c) Any police officer is hereby authorized to remove or cause to be removed to a place of safety at the expense of the owner any unattended, abandoned or disabled vehicle parked in any place where such parked vehicle blocks the use of a fire hydrant or obstructs or may obstruct the movement of any emergency vehicle. The same authority is also granted regarding any vehicle whether occupied or not in any of the following places: 1. At any place designated and posted as a fire lane. 2. All areas designated in Schedule XV. SECTION 3: All ordinances, rules, and regulations of the Village of Oak Brook which are in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict. SECTION 4: If any section, sub-section, sentence, clause, or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid, such determination shall not affect the validity of any remaining portion of this Ordinance. SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law. • PASSED and APPROVED this day of ��y��� , 1976.
