AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION
ON PROPERTY KNOWN AS LOT 16 IN CENTRAL
INDUSTRIAL PLAZA SUBDIVISION BY THE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE COUNTY,
ILLINOIS
Whereas, the statutes of the State of Illinois , to such
matters pertaining, provide that the corporate authorities of
each municipality may exercise the right of eminent domain by
condemnation proceedings in conformity with the provisions of
the Constitution and statutes of the State of Illinois for the
acquirement of property, useful, advantageous or desirable for
municipal purposes or public welfare; and
Whereas, the Village of Oak Brook has the authority to ac-
quire land within the corporate limits of the municipality for
the purpose of providing fire stations for the prevention and
extinguishment of fires, pursuant to Section 11-6-1 of the
Illinois Municipal Code of 1961 (Section 11-6-1, Chapter 24,
Illinois Revised Statutes , 1969) ; and
Whereas, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Oak Brook, DuPage County, Illinois , have determined that there
is a public need for the acquisition of real property for the
purpose of providing for another fire station for the Village of
Oak Brook, which real property is legally described as:
Lot 16 in the Central Industrial Plaza Subdivision, a
subdivision in part of the Southeast Quarter of Section
23, a part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 24 ,
Township 39 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal
Meridian, according to the plat thereof recorded June 1,
1965, as Document #R65-18254 in DuPage County, Illinois;
and
Whereas, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Oak Brook believe that the title to the real estate described
above should be acquired for the said purpose as hereinbefore
set forth:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage County, Illinois:
Section 1. That it is necessary and desirable that the real
estate described as:
Lot 16 in the Central Industrial Plaza Subdivision, a
subdivision in part of the Southeast Quarter of Section
23 , a part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 24 ,
Township 39 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal
Meridian, according to the plat thereof recorded June 1 ,
1965 , as Document #R65-18254 in DuPage County, Illinois ,
be acquired for the purpose set forth above.
Section 2. That the said President and Board of Trustees
aforesaid, acting through their authorized Village Administrator
and attorney for said Village, be and they are hereby empowered
to take the necessary steps , either by negotiation or condemna-
tion, to acquire title to the real property described above,
together with all improvements thereon, if any.

Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed.
