RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, GERALD WOLIN has faithfully and with dedication and distinction served the Village of
Oak Brook in his capacity as an appointed member of the Plan Commission from May, 2002 to May, 2007; and
WHEREAS, in April, 2007 he was elected Village Trustee and has steadfastly served in that position
until May, 2015; and
WHEREAS, during his terms on the Oak Brook Plan Commission and Village Board, GERALD WOLIN
was involved in many, many vital projects in those thirteen years; and
WHEREAS, some of the new construction/development projects on which he worked closely were:
McDonald's and Gibson's on 22nd Street, Cheesecake Factory, Clearwater Project, HUB Group Headquarters,
Duchossois Project, Oak Brook Promenade Project, Peabody Mansion Special Use Project, and Oakbrook
Center renovation; and
WHEREAS, GERALD WOLIN has also played a major role in these Village Code amendments:
increasing maximum height of single-family homes, special use for the Park District Master Plan, variations
regarding ball field and soccer field lights, new planned development and sign regulations, and regulations for
future cemetery improvements; and
WHEREAS, GERALD WOLIN provided leadership and was instrumental in securing significant savings
to Oak Brook residents with his work on residential waste pickup services as well as the electric aggregation
program; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees are of the opinion that a record of such devoted
service should be made and spread upon the records of said Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook that the said GERALD WOLIN be and is hereby commended for his loyal service to the Village of Oak
Brook and the citizens thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, for
and on behalf of said Village and its citizens, do hereby extend their appreciation and gratitude to the said
GERALD WOLIN for his civic service as aforedescribed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a duly certified copy of this Resolution be delivered to the said
GERALD WOLIN and that this Resolution be spread upon the official permanent records of said Village.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook,
DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois, this 12th day of May, 2015.
