WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook is concerned about the incidence of
flooding from Salt Creek and its tributaries over the past several years; and

MEMO TO: Village President and Board of Trustees

RE: Amendment to Resolution No. R-455 Supporting Regional Stormwater
Management Planning for the Salt Creek Drainage Basin
RECOMMENDATION: That the Village Board adopt the Amendatory Resolution
for Regional Stormwater Management Planning
The Village Board at its July 12, 1988 meeting adopted Resolution No. R-455 which
supported regional stormwater managment planning for the Salt Creek drainage
basin. The Resolution recommended:
1. That a regional stormwater management planning approach for communities
in the lower Salt Creek basin be established.
2. That a technical coordinating committee consisting of key municipal
staff members from lower Salt Creek drainage basin communities and
the DuPage Stormwater Management staff be established to hold regular
meetings to coordinate stormwater management planning efforts.
3. That consideration should be given tc, including one or more representatives
from District #2 of the DuPage County Board on the DuPage County
Stormwater Management Committee.
Last week we received notice from the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference
that the State Legislature had just approved a bill which would expand the DuPage
Stormwater Management Committee to 10 members, with one county and municipal
member from eac.. county board district. I should further point out that the
Mayors and Presidents of District #2 will be meeting on Wednesday, July 27,
1988 for the purpose of discussing the selection of the representative to the
Stormwater Management Committee.

President Cerne and I discussed this matter and agreed that it would better that
our previous Resolution No. R-455 be appended so as to be in accordance with ,
the new State hill and also allow the Mayors and Presidents the flexibility of
deciding who they would like to have as their representative. It is therefore
recommended that the attached Amended Resolution changing Section 3 so that
there would be two representatives from District #2 on the DuPage Stormwater
Management Committee be approved. Sections 1 and 2 of the Resolution would
remain the same.

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by President
Cerne in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room of the Village Commons at 7:30 P.M.

Resolution No. R-455 adopted at the Regular Meeting of July 12, 1988
which supported regional stormwater management planning for the Salt
Creek drainage basin. Proposed amendment expands the committee
members per State legislation.
