Memo To: President Cerne and the Hoard of Trustees

Recommendation: Motion to Approve the Village's Proposed 1989-90 Budget
in the Amount of $20,508,`150
At the Committee-of-the-Thole meeting on March 13,1989 certain changes i
were suggested by President Cerne and the Board of Trustees to be taken
into consideration and added to the 1989-90 proposed budget. President
Cerne requested a survey of subdivision entrances at arterial roads for
efficient street lighting. Floyd Wilson, Public Works director, has
listed ten entrances for lighting improvement (see attachment) . The
proposed budget of $5,000.00 should be sufficient to cover the costs f�r
said ten (10) lights since we suggest using Commonwealth Edison lights
and poxes
Also, tLat bids for Reservoir B will be presented at the April 25th Board
meeting. The bids for the Pressure Adjusting Stations will be presenters
at the first meeting in May. In light of the complexity 'of these
projects and the uncertainty of the exact amount of the DuPage hater
Commission's reimbursement, it is A.mpossible to measure the budget
impact at this time. Therefore, we would prefer to finalize the budget
in June through the Appropriations ordinance when the final costs and
reimbursements are known.

Please note that there have been no changes made to the proposed budge,
for fiscal year 1989-90.
I respectfully request a notion to approve the 1989-90 budget in the
amount of $20,508,750. Please be reminded that the Village must
formally pass the annual appropriation ordinance within the first
quarter of our new fiscal year to finalize the State appropriation
requirements. The staff and I will see that sawme is handled
accordingly. Please be reminded to bring your budget book with you on
Tuesday.
