RESOLUTION 90. R-479 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMgUMMiM TO TIM EMPLOYES
PAY PLAN FOR 1989:
Proposed resolution modifies the 1989 Salary Administration Plan by
increasing the salary ranges for Grades 1, 2 and 3 employees and
reclassifies the Administrative Assistant position from Grade 6 to
Grade 7 effective the pay period beginning May 14, 1989.

To pass Resolution No. R-479 with amendments to show Civil Engineer I,
a registered Civil Engineer, Grade 9; Civil Engineer II,,a non-
registered Civil Engineer, Grade 8; and reclassify fob title and job
description for Golf Manager/Green Superintendent to Greens
Superintendent and waive the full reading thereof.

SUBJECT: 1989 Salary plan Modifications - Grades 1, 2 and 3
The Village president and Board of Trustees, at their May 23, 1989 meeting,
approved the proposed modifications to the 1989 Salary plan (see attached).
These modifications affect employees in Grades 1, 2 and 3. The salary ranges
for these grades have been Pdjusted 'upward in order that they be more
competitive with our Region Iv marketplace.
These modifications are effective the current pay period beginning May 14,
1989. This is how they will be instituted:
1. All Grade 1, 2 and 3 employees who currently are below the new grade
minimums should be adjusted to the new grade minimum; and
2, Those Grades 1, 2 and 3 T.O.G. employees will receive a pay increase
based upon the modifications and their previous 1989 merit increases, in
an amount not to exceed the merit percentage increase they received with
their last merit review- In other words, if a T.O.G. employee received
an ''Above standards" (10.2%) evaluation on January 1, 1989, but only was
eligible for the 4.2% range adjustment/merit increase because of being at
T.O.G, then that employee can now receive another 6% increase based on
their current salary, provided that the new salary range for that Grade
can accommodate a 6% increase (no employee can exceed the now T.O.G.
salary). The total percentage increase in this case is 10.2% which
coincides with the merit review of "Above standards" given the employee
in January.
If, for example, a T.O.G. employee received an 8.7% increase in January,
1989 bring3.ng that employee to the T.O.G. for the first time and their
merit review was "Exceeding standards" (11.2%), then that employee would
be eligible for another 2.5% increase based on current salary not to
exceed T.O.G.
