I believe that this was developed when the Village began the Paramedic program in approx. 1985. I have reviewed this and feel that it is appropriate for our situation, with the exceptions noted. Based upon our discussion today, the best approach to this will be tea requ .re any-Applicant to possess this certificati.ean when applying to take the test administered by the Board of Police & Fire Comm. I have noted -three numbered sections warranting change. They are: #1. Individual should be certified as an EMT-P by the IDPR. f 2. Individual should possess certification as a Paramedic, ,4S issued by: the IDPH. #3. Section should be reworded so that individual will become certified as a Paramedic within the Good Samaritan hospital . system during probation. Individuals taking our entrance exam may be certified. as a Paramedic in some other hospital system; i. e , Ingalls Hospital in Farvey. To switch this certification, the individual most take Goad Sam's exam. For a funttionning Paramedic, this is a very minor requirement, easily met in a matter .of days. If you desire any additional material, please advise. i b Q • VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK 1200 OAK BROOK ROAD OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS 60521-2255 II June 27 1989 3 12 990-3000 !
