Since the Village has recently created the position of Fire Department Captain, it is appropriate for the Village Board to include the above position as exempt according to the Fair .Labor Standards Act. Therefore we recommend, based upon a review of the Fire Captain's duties, that the Board approve the Fire Captain position as being exempt under FLSA.
