ORDINANCE. NO. S-277 , THE
PUBLIC WOR.�S CONSTRUCTION
ORDINANCE OF OAR BROOK, ILLINOIS
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Oak Brook as Follows:
Section 1. Ordinance No. S-277, the "Public Works Construction
Ordinance" of Oak Brook, is hereby amended to provide that Article
IV; read as follows:
ARTICLE IV PAVEMENTS
Section I. - GENE?ZNh: All new pavement construction and repair
and/or alteration of existing pavements in conjunction with new pavement
construction shall •conform .to- the requirements sett forth in this
article. Design shall comply with Section 7-001, "Structural. Pavement.
Design" of, Section-7--Pavement- Design.. of the DESIGN 14ANU_AL published by
the Illinois. Departnent of Transportation.

Section 2: RIGID PAVE�4ENT: :Rigi ff pavements shall be designed- inn.
accordance with the latest revision of Section 7-101, "Structural
Design of._.Portland Cement Concrete Pavements" of Section 7 Pavenen L_
Design of the DESIGN MLIN3 L published by the Illinois Department of
Transportation with -the exception that non-reinforced pavements will
not be allowed. _
Section 3 . -' TYPICAL RIGID PAVEMENTS:

Class III Streets 750 to 2000 ADT 7" Alin. Thickness
Class II Streets over - _- 2000 ADT 8" Alin. Thickness
with 4" sub-base

Section 6.- PORTIAND_ CEMENT CONCRETE CURBS AND COMBINATION CURB
AND GUTTERS: Curb height shall be 6" . Curb width shall be 7" .
Combination curb and gutter width shall be 19". Curb shall be Type B
and combination curb and gutter shall be Type M-6:12 conforming to
Illinois Department of Transportation Standard #2130-3. All curbs
shall either be depressed across driveways. during construction or
`) . shall be removed_ and replaced as a depressed section at the time of
driveway construction.
Section 7. PUBLIC SIDEWALKS: Construction joints shall be sw.4
cut.
Sidewalks shall be constructed of Portland Cement Concrete.
Minimum thickness shall. be 5" except across driveways where the
thickness shall be' 7". Sidewalk width shall be 4 ' in residential
areas and 5' in other areas..
Section 8*. - CONSTRUCTION: All construction shall be in
accor ance with. the latest revision of "Standard Specifications for
Road and Bridge Construction" published by the Illinois

of Transportaton. Department
Section' 2. This Ordinance shall. be in full force and effect
from amd after its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law.
PASSED and APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage County, Illinois, this 28th day
of May 1974 .
