S-495 - 09/14/1982 - PERSONAL PROPERTY - Ordinances ORDINANCE S- 495 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY WHEREAS, three-fourths (3/4) of the corporate authorities of the Village of Oak Brook presently holding office have determined that it is no longer necessary or useful or in the best interest of the Village of Oak Brook to retain ownership of certain property described on Exhibit "A" and WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 24 , Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Revised Statutes , the corporate authorities can dispose of such personal property in the manner set forth in the manner designated by ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES , ILLINOIS as follows : Section 1 : That the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell the personal property described in Exhibit "A" now owned by the Village of Oak Brook, said sale to be conducted by public auction on Saturday, October 2 , 1982 at the College of DuPage , 22nd Street and Lambert Road , Glen Ellyn, Illinois , to the highest bidder on said property. Section 2 : That the Village Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference to advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal property in a newspaper of general circulation in the Village before the date of said public auction. Section 3 : That no bid which is less than the minimum price set forth in the list of property to be sold shall be accepted . Section 4 : That the Village Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference (Conference) to enter into an agreement for the sale of said personal property. The Conference will charge an administrative cost which will come out of the proceeds from the sale of surplus vehicles and equipment . Section 5 : That upon payment of the full auction price , the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer title to the aforesaid personal property to the successful bidder . Section 6 : This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage , by a vote of at least three-fourths of the corporate authorities , and approval in the manner provided by law.
