AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN
PERSONAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, three-fourths (3/4) of the corporate authorities of the
Village of Oak Brook presently holding office have determined that it is no
longer necessary or useful or in the best interest of the Village of Oak Brook to
retain ownership of certain property described on Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 24, Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois
Revised Statutes, the corporate authorities can dispose of such personal property
in the manner set forth in the manner designated by ordinance;
NOW, THREREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to sell the personal property described in Exhibit "A" now owned by the Village
of Oak Brook, said sale to be conducted by solicitation of bids for the sale of
said property.
Section 2: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish an "Invitation To Bidders" for sale of said personal property subject to
the following terms and conditions:
1. Sold in "as is" condition with no warranties or guarantees of any
kind.
2. All bids must be accompanied by a separate Certified or Cashier's
Check for each item bid. The Certified or Cashier's Check shall be
made payable to the bidder; upon award of the bid, the bidder shall
immediately endorse the check to the Village of Oak Brook.
3. Items can be viewed at Fire Station ail, one week prior to bid
opening, 9 AM - 4 PM, Monday - Friday.
4. Items will be awarded to highest bidder meeting our requirements.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
