AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT
PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ORDINANCE N0. G-60, AS AMENDED
(Oak Brook Christian Center)
WHEREAS, on April 23, 1974 the corporate authorities of the Village of
Oak Brook passed Ordinance No. 5-301 which granted a special use permit for the
construction and operation of a "church and school of Oak Brook Centre Church" at
what is now known as Lot 1 of the Oak Brook Christian Church Subdivision,
commonly known as 3100 Midwest Road ("Subject Property") , subject to approval of
final site and construction plans by the appropriate Village Boards and
GDmmissions; and
WHEREAS, on October 26, 1976, the corporate authorities upon the
recommendation of the Plan Commission, approved the final site plan subject to
certain contitions including the following:
1. The existing frame building on the property (at the Northeast
corner of the property at 31st Street and Midwest Road) be razed
not later than 24 months from the issuance of an Occupancy Permit
for Phase 1, and
2. The site plan contain a note prohibiting overnight parking of
buses; and
WHEREAS, a do-Fault Certificate (Early Occupancy Permit) was issued to
the Church on June 2, 1978; and
WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Plan Commission, on May 8,
1984, the corporate authorities of the Village of Oak Brook passed Ordinance

demolition of the existing frame house at the northeast corner of the Subject
Property to June 1, 1986; and

WHEREAS, the applicant, the Oak Brook Christian Center, has asked for a
futher extension of tb denolition deadline to January 1, 1988; and
i
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities find that the extension requested by
the applicant is in the best interest of the Village of Oak Brook.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: 1I9iat the provisions of the peamble hereinabove set forth
are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 5-301, as amended by
Ordinance No. S-527, is further amended to read as follows:
Section 1: That a special use permit be and hereby is granted
foi-tle—construction and op°ration of a "church and school of
Oak Brook Centre Church" essentially as shown on the site plan
markcd Exhibit A, and subject however, to the conditions 1)
that the existing house on the subject property (at the
Northeast- corner of the subject property at 31st Street and
Midwest Road) be razed not later than January 1, 1988, 2) that
the applicant comply with all other conditions imposed at the
time the site plan was approved on October 26, 1976,
including, but not limited to the provisions against parking
buses on the subject property overnight, and 3) that the
applicant install a culvert under the driveway onto Midwest
Road, or present another alternative acceptable to the Village
by its engineer, on or before October 1, 1984, in accordance
with the permit granted June 8, 1.977.

Section 3: That all other provisions of Ordinance S--301, as amended by
Ordinance S-527, shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
