AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5-7 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK AND PROVIDING FOR A WAIVER
OF BUILDING PERMIT FEES IN CERTAIN INSTANCES
WHEREAS, heavy rains and floodings have caused substantial damage to
various properties in the Village of Oak Brook resulting from rains commencing
initially on August 14, 1987; and
WHEREAS, to effect repairs for said damage, building permits in most
instances will be required; and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees deem it
appropriate to provide for the waiver of building permit fees otherwise due in
such instances;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That Section 5-7 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village
of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended so as to provide that fees for building
permits requested to repair properties suffering flood damage from the storms of
August, 1987 shall be waived. Said waiver shall only apply to the replacement of
any portion of any structure damaged by said storms and no waiver shall apply to
any additions or expansions to any such property.
Section 2: That the provision of this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law from September 1, 1987 to .September 1, 1988 and shall only be applicable to
the flood damaged properties as outlined herein.
Section 3: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
