S-666 - 04/25/1989 - ANNEXATION - Ordinances ORDINANCE S- 666 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook have heretofore authorized the purchase of certain territory described below to be utilized in conjunction with the construction of a reservoir, metering station and appurtenances to serve the Village's water system; and WHEREAS, the said territory is contiguous to the corporate limits of tae Village of Oak Brook and is uninhabited and unincorporated and is owned by the Village of Oak Brook pursuant to a deed therefor from the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority; and WHEREAS, Paragraph 7-1-9, Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes specifically authorizes a municipality to annex territory owned by it; and WHEREAS, due notice of the contemplated annexation was served upon the Trustees of the Fire Protection District presently serving the territory described below; and WHEREAS, all notices required by law have been duly given in the manner provided by law; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: That the following described territory, pursuant to the provisions of paragraph 7-1-9 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes is hereby annexed to the Village of Oak Brook, to wit: A part of Lot 2 of Bullinger Estates, a subdivision in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 28, Township 39 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, according to the plat thereof recorded August 19, 1947 as Document 527420 in DuPage County, Illinois, also being apart of a tract of land described in Warranty Deed to The Illinois State Toll Highway Commission recorded September 26, 1953 as Document 896379, said part being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of said Lot 2; thence on an assumed bearing of North 08 Degrees, 46 Minutes, 16 Seconds West along the West Line of said Lot 2, also being along the Westerly Line of said tract of land described in Warranty Deed recorded as Document 896379, a distance of 128.12 feet; thence North 65 Degrees, 57 Minutes, 30 Seconds East, 26.02 feet; thence North 53 Degrees, 35 Minutes, 16 Seconds East, 110.22 feet to a point on the North Line of said Lot 2, also being along the Northerly Line of said tract of land described in Warranty Deed recorded as Document 896379; thence North 84 Degrees, 14 Minutes, 48 Seconds East, along said North Line, a distance of 97.08 feet to the most Easterly corner of said tract of land described in Warranty Deed recorded as Document 896379; thence South 41 Degrees, 44 Minutes, 42 Seconds West along the Southeasterly Line of said tract of land described in Warranty Deed recorded as Document_ 896379, a distance of 284.65 feet (283.94 feet record) to the point of beginning. The above described Parcel contains 0.3878 acres, 16,891 square feet, more or less. Permanent Parcel No. 06-28-300-035. Section 2: The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to record a certified copy of this ordinance together with an accurate map of the annexed territory with the Recorder of Deeds of DuPage County, Iiiinois. Section 3: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this ordinance with the DuPage County Board of Election Con-anissioners and the Post Office Branch servicing the above described property. Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and affecc f-,- and after passage and approval as provided by law.
