S-673 - 06/13/1989 - SPECIAL USE - Ordinances ORDINANCE S-6 7 3 AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR A HELIPORT Official Airline Guides, Inc. 2000 Clearwater Drive WHEREAS, an application has heretofore been filed requesting the issuance of a Special Use permit for a heliport for property zoned ORA-1 Office Research Assembly District; and WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Oak Brook has submitted its report on the subject petition to the Zoning Board of Appeals and the President and Board of Trustees and recommended denial of the Special Use of the heliport; and WHEREAS, a public hearing on the application has been conducted on May 2, 1989 by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Oak Brook pursuant to due and appropriate legal notice; and WHEREAS, a recommendation was made by the said Zoning Board of Appeals that the Special Use requested be granted; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have reviewed these recommendations and concur with the recommendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals and deem the passage of this Ordinance to be in the best interest and in furtherance of the general welfare of the Village of Oak Brook; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein. Section 2: That a Special Use permit is hereby granted to the property described in Section 4 hereof to permit a heliport pursuant to Section X(B) (2) (a) of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Oak Brook. Section 3: That the Special Use permit herein granted pursuant to Section 2 of this Ordinance is expressly subject to compliance with the following conditions in addition to the conditions set forth in Section X(B)(2)(a) of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Oak Brook. A. Operations at the heliport shall be limited to 12 operations per year. B. Approach routes shall be limited to those depicted in the attached Exhibit A. C. Helicopters utilizing this heliport shall fly at the maximum safe level prior to entering the approach pattern to the heliport. D. Use of the heliport be made available to the Village of Oak Brook or its designees in the event of emergencies. E. The location of the heliport shall be limited to that area as depicted on the attached Exhibit B. F. Except for the provisions of subparagraph D, only helicopters owned or leased by Official Airline Guides may utilize the heliport. G. Official Airline Guides shall maintain appropriate and sufficient insurance coverage relative to the installation and use of said heliport insuring against any property damage or personal injury arising there from with policy limits of not less than $20,000,000. H. Only the Bell 206-L Jet Ranger, seven-passenger helicopter, or a substantially similar type helicopter may utilize the heliport. I. The Special Use herein granted shall be for a one-year period ending June 13, 1990. Ordinance S- 67'; An Ordinance Granting a Special Use Permit for a Heliport Page Two Section 4: This Ordinance is limited and restricted to the property located at 2000 Clearwater Drive, Oak Brook, Illinois as legally described as follows: Lot 1 in Official Airline Guides Resubdivision, being a Resubdivision in the Southwest Quarter of Section 24, Township 39 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, according to the plat thereof recorded July 15, 1985 as Document R85-55758, in DuPage County, Illinois. Permanent Parcel #06-24-307-022. Section 5: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after passage and approval as provided by law. PASSED THIS 13th day of June 1989.
