AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE HOTEL/MOTEL TAX FUND
AND MAKING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION THEREFOR
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities have heretofore made an appropriation
for all Village funds pursuant to Ordinance S-695, passed and approved
July 10, 1990, and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said ordinance the corporate authorities imposed a
hotel/motel tax pursuant to the authorization of paragraph 8-3-14 of the
Illinois Municipal Code, Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes, by
Ordinance G-451, passed and approved September 25, 1990; and
WHEREAS, by virtue of the said hotel/motel tax, additional revenue will
be available to the municipality which was not able to be contemplated in the
original appropriation ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities desire to establish a hotel/motel tax
fund for such funds and to make a supplemental appropriation therefor pursuant
to the authorization set forth in paragraph 8-2-9 of the Illinois Municipal
Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are
hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That a new fund entitled "Hotel/Motel Tax Fund" be and is
hereby created.
Section 3: That a supplemental appropriation for the hotel/motel tax
fund, for the fiscal year ending April 30, 1991, is hereby made in
anticipation of revenues to be received by virtue of the hotel/motel tax as
follows:
Advertisement/Promotion $59,400
DuPage County Convention & Visitors Bureau $17,600
Contingency $11,000
TOTAL $88,000
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner
required by law.

Section 5: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
