S-947 - 07/13/1999 - LIBRARY - Ordinances ORDINANCE 1999-ZO-SU-S-447 AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE FOR THE NEW OAK BROOK PUBLIC LIBRARY (600 Oak Brook Road,Oak Brook,IL 60523) WHEREAS,the Village of Oak Brook is the owner of the 270-acre Oak Brook Sports Core and has applied to the Village for a special use to permit construction of a 24,000 square foot public library with accessary parking and garden areas on an approximate 3-acre site; and WHEREAS,the Plan Commission on May 17, 1999 recommended approval of the requested special use,subject to certain conditions;and WHEREAS, a public hearing thereon was conducted by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Oak Brook on June 1, 1999 pursuant to due and appropriate legal notice; and WHEREAS,the Zoning Board of Appeals i-ecommended approval of the requested special use, subject to certain conditions; and WHEREAS,the President and Board of Trustees have reviewed the recommendations of the Zoning Board of Appeals and Plan Commission and deem th,-,passage of this Ordinance to be in the best interest and in furtherance of the general welfare of the Village of Oak Brook,subject to the conditions set forth below: I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK,DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein. Section 2: That a special use, pursuant to Section VI(A)(2)(f)of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook is granted to permit the construction of a new public library on property commonly known as 600 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, Illin0*13,which is approximately 350 feet north of the centerline of 31St Street(Oak Brook Road)and 2300 feet west of the centerline of York Road, in what is commonly known as the Oak Brook Sports Core. The Sports Core is legally described as follows: Lot 1 in Sports Core Subdivision, a subdivision of part of Section 25 and 26,Township 39 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian in DuPage County, Illinois according to the plat thereof recorded on April 9, 1979 as Document No. R79-278413. Permanent Parcel No. 06.25-300-017, Section 3: That the special use permit herein granted pursuant to Section 2 of this Ordinance is expressly subject to compliance with the followinq conditions: I. a. That the development shall be constructed in substantial conformity with the Site Plan prepared by Carow Architects Planners, LLC,dated, as last revised, June 2, 1999, and incorporated herein by reference. b.
