R-191 - 01/13/1976 - LEGISLATION - ResolutionsIR- 191 i ECsISOTiola 51ZA L R}TSi�LJ O'PION �9/ pSSet ►I1Nct W W&&S, nM VILLAGE of OAK mm, Du Page and Cook Counties, Illinois has received $ 147,682 to date wider the provisions of Title 1 of the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972 P.L. 92-512, and, wmREAS, TEE VILLAGE OF OAK MWK has used or obligated its federal allocation for the enrictment of the culture and welfare of the community in the reconstruction of the Oak Brook Municipal Library, and the damlopment of trails through the Village, and, WHEREAS, use of the Federal General Revenue Sharing Allocation for this purpose has aided the Village in operating the Mmicipal Library an a non -fee basis as a Free Public Library, and, whu7i A3, frture fr4eral allocations to the Village of Oak Brook would be appropriated to fin=--e programs which will increase the quality of life to the citizens of Oak Brook and at the same time abate the need for additional municipal fees or taxes, and, {FRB ".S, Title I of the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972 P. L. 92 -512 will expire on December 31, 1976, unless continued by Federal Law, and, WREREA.S, State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972 P. L. 92 -512 has been a successful program in remitting federal dollars back to local government to be used for local purposes, NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Village President and Board of Trustees for the Village of Oak Brook, Du Page and Cook Counties, Illinois, that: 1. The Congress of the United States be urged to pass legislation which ,rill continue the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972 P. L. 92 -SI2 in its present or similar form. 2. The President of the United States, be respectfully requested to support legislation which will continue the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Art of 1972 P.
