R-127 - 01/25/1972 - STREETS - ResolutionsR E S O L U T I O N ee -IAI STREE.'r$ RA NO ST W ipi�N 11'G W. of WcN.43 WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook have taken note of, and are deeply concerned regarding the increasing traffic congestion on 22nd Street (Cermak Road) as it extends through the village west of Route 83, and, WHEREAS, existing and proposed development in the Village of Oak Brook has generated, and will continue to generate, traffic which far exceeds the existing capacity of the two lane section of 22nd Street west of Route 83, and, WHEREAS, improvement of this section of 22nd Street has been given a high priority in a professional traffic engineering report rendered by, Crawford, Bunts, Roden, Inc. in 1971, and, WHEREAS, 22nd Street as it extends through the Village of Oak Brook is under the jurisdiction of the State of Illinois, Department of Public Works and Buildings, Division of Highways, and, WHEREAS, the safe conduct of traffic in and through the Village of Oak Brook dictates that immediate improvements and upgrading of 22nd Street should be made in the near term future, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook that they do hereby urge the appropriate officials in the Division of Highways to commence preparation of plans and specifications for improvement of such section of 22nd Street as soon as possible. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be transmitted to Mr. Sigmund C. Ziejewski, Regional Transportation Engineer for the Division of Highways, and, BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be transmitted to Governor Richard B. Ogilvie and to the Director of the Department of Public Works and Buildings, William Cellini, for their prompt consideration. Adopted this 25th day of January, 1972. Zf 0 1.
