R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, WENCE F. CERNE, has faithfully and with dedication and distinction
served the Village of Oak Brook in his capacity as a member of the Board of
Trustees from May, 1975 through April, 1979; and
WHEREAS, the said WENCE F. CERNE, has also faithfully and with dedication
and distinction served the Village of Oak. Brook in his capacity as President of the
Board of Trustees from May, 1979 to April, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the said WENCE F. CERNE, has also served the community in many
other ways including Treasurer, Senior Vice President and President of the DuPage
Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America; Boy Scout Troop 76 Committee Chairman;
Police Magistrate of Downers Grove; Member of the Downers Grove Planning
Commission; Chairman of the Downers Grove Zoning Commission; and
WHEREAS, during the unselfish and dedicated rendering of said. service,
WENCE F. CERNE has given willingly of his time, effort and expertise, contributing
materially thereby to the progress and well-being of the said Village and its citizens;
and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees are of the opinion that a
record of such faithful service should be made and spread upon the records of
said Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Oak Brook that said WENCE F. CERNE be and he hereby is commended
for his faithful service to the Village of Oak Brook and the citizens thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Oak Brook, for and on behalf of said Village and its citizens, do
hereby extend their appreciation and gratitude to the said WENCE F CERNE for his
many civic services as aforedescribed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a duly certified copy of this Resolution be
delivered to the said WENCE F. CERNE and that this Resolution be spread upon the
official permanent records of said Village.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Oak Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois, this 14th day of
May, 1991.
