I
A RESOWTION TO PARTICIPATE
IN A STMM-1 DN ONE-CALL NOTICE SrBT=
WHEREAS, the owners or operators of underground utility facilities are
required by State law to participate in the State-Wide One-Call Notice System
pursuant to the provisions of the Illinois Underground Utility Facilities
Damage Prevention Act, Public Act 86-674, codified as Chapter 111-2/3,
paragraph 1601 through 1614; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook is the owner and operator of certain
underground utility facilities; and
WHEREAS, J.U.L.I.E., Inc. (Joint Utility Locating Information for
Excavators) is the only State-Wide One-Call Notice System in operation in the
State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook wishes to conform to the provisions of
the Illinois Underground Utility Facilities Damage Prevention Act and join
J.U.L.I.E. as required pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 111-2/3,
paragraph 1603 of the Illinois Revised Statutes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section is That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth
are hereby adopted herein as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That the Village of Oak Brook shall participate in
J.U.L.I.B., Inc.'s State-Wide One-Call Notice System and pay the appropriate
fees for calls received from J.U.L.I.E. as a result of said participation. In
so electing to participate, the Village specifically reserves all rights as to
any agreements, by-laws, or operating rules and regulations of J.U.L.I.E. and
further elects not to be bound by any such written agreement, by-laws or
operating rules and regulations of or with J.U.1.I.8., Inc. unless and until
approval and acceptance thereof is made in writing by the corporate
authorities of the Village of Oak Brook.
Section 3: That the Village Manager and Public Works Department are
authorised and directed to provide all information required to J.U.L.I.B.,
Inc. for participation in J.U.L.I.E. 's State-Wide One-Call Notice System and
to follow all operational directions issued by J.U.L.I.E., Inc. pertaining to
the operation of the system and to cooperate in any manner necessary to
participate in the work of J.U.L.I.Z., Inc.
Section 4s That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded to
J.U.L.I.B., Inc. at 3033 West Jefferson Street, Suite 218, Joliet, IL 60435
as evidence of the Village of Oak Brook's participation in the State-Wide One-
Call Notice System.
Section 5: That the Village of Oak Brook's participation in the state-
Wide One-Call Notice System shall commence with passage of this Resolution.
