WHEREAS, the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority has recently advised
the Village Manager that it intends to go from a three-year construction j
schedule to a two-year construction schedule for the widening of a section of
the Tri-State Tollway, including the reconstruction of the bridges over the
Tri-State Tollway at Ogden Avenue, Oak Brook Road (31st Street), and Csrmak
Road (22nd Street), all in the immediate area of Oak Brook; and
WHEREAS, apparently a ntl bids will be opened on or about December 10, 1991,
for this proposed two-year construction project, which is scheduled to start i
on or about January 6, 1992; and
WHEREAS, the Toll Highway Authority has indicated that all three bridges
in the immediate area of Oak Brook will be under construction simultaneously;
and R
WHEREAS, such construction will reduce the traffic in each direction
over said bridges from two lanes to one lane; and
i
WHEREAS, this simultaneous construction on all throe bridges will
adversely affect the east-west traffic flow in the Village of Oak Brook and
surrounding areas;
NOw, THEREFORE, 8E IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAR BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK cOUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:

Sect_ ion 1: The Village of Oak Brook urges the Illinois State Toll j 1
Highway Authority to phase construction of these three bridges to minimize the
adverse impact of this construction project on east-west traffic in the
Village of Oak Brook and the immediate area.

Section 2: That a certified copy of this resolution be sent immediately
to the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority Board, headquartered in Oak ('
Brook, for its review and consideration.
