RECOMMENDATION: That the President and Board of Trustees:
1 . Grant approval to the advertising for bids for the
11992 Crack Sealing Project to be received on Monday,
April 6, 1992 at 11:00 A.M.
2. Approve "Resolution for Maintenance of Streets and
Highways By Municipality Under the Illinois Highway
Code" for 1992.
Included within the proposed FY 92/93 budget is 950,000 for the 1992 Crack
Sealing Project (Account Number 051800-590407) . Since this item is within
the MFT budget, the Engineering Department has been working with IDOT
personnel to insure that our design documents and specifications meet MFT
requirements.
The attached "Resolution for Maintenance of Streets and Highways by
Muni ipa] ; ly Under the Illitosis Highway Code" and "Municipal Estimate of
Maintenance Costs" are documents required by IDOT for MFT funding. The
resolution appropriates the sum of $279,660.00 for calendar year 1992 for
those items as listed within the Estimate sheet. The Estimate sheet lists
the Crack Sealing Project as one of five (5) specific items which the
Village is seeking MFT funding. The other four (4) will be administered at
:>nme future time.
Due to the fact that crack sealing work is best done before the weather

gets too warm, we would like to receive authorization to bid this project
at the meeting of March 10, 1992 and have an award of the contract at the
April 14, 1992 Board meeting. This would allow the work to commence and be
complated during the month of May. Since this work will be accomplished
after May 1 , 1992, this item is properly budgeted within the FY 92/93
budget.

This item has been reviewed with Manager Berley, Mike Meranda and Maggie
Powers who have checked the MFT Account and have concluded that sufficient I '
funds are available. Please see the attached deiail on funds, balances,
projected revenue and the associated 92/93 project/material costs.
This item is being placed on the Board agenda for March 10, 1992 for your
consideration.

The resolution adopted by the President and Board of Trustees
on March 10, 1992 appropriating $279,660.00 of motor fuel tax
funds for the maintenance of various municipal streets from
January 1, 1992, to December 31, 1992, was approved by this
Department on March 13, 1992.
The detailed estimate of maintenance cost in the amount of
$279,660.00 for municipal street, and the contract proposals,
were also approved by this Department on March 13, 1992 and
your file copies are being returned herewith and to Dale L.
Durfey, Village Engineer.
Expenditure of the full amount of the approved estimate
$279,660.00 from your unobligated motor fuel tax account is
hereby authorized and will be recorded on your next monthly
Allotment Notification Letter.
